Works with no signal
Records are written to the device and stay readable with the radio off. There is no sync queue, so there is nothing to get stuck and nothing to lose when a connection comes back.

A photograph belongs to the record it was taken for, at the size it was captured. Field photographs are evidence, and a downscaled copy of evidence is a different thing.

A record can carry the coordinates it was made at, with the accuracy the device reported rather than a false decimal place. Stamps are off until a survey switches them on.

Reminders for an open survey
Set per survey, not globally, because one survey runs for a morning and another runs for a season. The reminder is scheduled on the device, so nothing about the survey leaves it.

Export that can be read without this app
A notebook exports as a CSV with the photographs in a folder beside it, named by record. Nothing about the format needs this app to open it in five years.
